We are located in Northwest Alabama along the Tennessee River in a two county region known as the Shoals. Founded in 1923, Muscle Shoals has carried forth the ideals of creating a safe, family-friendly place for our residents to live, work and play.

The Shoals area is known worldwide for its music recording industry, as the birthplace of W. C. Handy, Father of the Blues. The birthplace of Helen Keller, and the home of the Alabama Music Hall of Fame. We are also the birthplace of the Tennessee Valley Authority and the location of the Wilson Dam. TVA's Environmental Research Center, The Public Power Institute and the International Fertilizer Development Center, all nationally and internationally recognized institutions, are located in the Shoals. These are only the highlights of a city and region we are proud to call home, and that we hope you will visit soon.
